Every literary generation has its own underdog – as a kid I had Adrian Mole, in the late 90’s there was Stanley Yelnats from HOLES, ten years on Wimpy Kid crashed the party, only to be followed by Lottie Brooks.

I’m not trying to emulate any of these great writers, but there is no denying that when done well, underdogs are BELOVED by their readers…And that is exactly what Finley N.O. Hope is.
He’s not just an underdog, he’s a fail magnet, the kind of klutz: his life path seems to be littered with cowpats curled by the most satanic of herds.
There’s his power-crazed big brother, his unicorn obsessed little sister, not to mention dad, who since the divorce doesn’t seem to wear anything but the tightest of lycra…shudder.
The only thing that gets Finn through the day are his two best pals: Google, a brilliant young woman with a supercomputer for a brain…and Laszlo, whose focus is 100%, 24/7, 365 on finding luuurve (lord help him).
So the odds are stacked against our hero, and there are many challenged ahead. What I hope, is that readers fall in love with him (don’t tell Laszlo), and root for him, as he tries, again and again, to go from zero…to hero.
